The Las Canteras Sand Nativity Scene was recognized this Friday, March 14th, with the Roque Nublo Silver Award from the Gran Canaria Island Council, as part of the 2025 Honors and Distinctions ceremony . This award reaffirms the international reach, cultural value, and economic and tourism impact of this emblematic event. The ceremony, held at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, brought together 21 prominent figures and organizations from the island's social, cultural, scientific, economic, and sporting spheres.
The President of the Island Council, Antonio Morales, accompanied by the Councilor for the Presidency and Sustainable Mobility, Teodoro Sosa, presented the award to Belén (Go Beyond Innovation, Creativity and Development, SL) for its unique contribution to the tourism and cultural promotion of Gran Canaria. Miguel Rodríguez, founder of the event, accepted the award on behalf of the entire team and expressed his gratitude to all the people and institutions that have supported the preservation of this cultural landmark, which is approaching its twentieth anniversary.
